Arkeo according to Jill
By Jill Pamandanan | October 8, 2009
Jill Pamandanan’s yellow skirt will surely be missed. She talks about pets and children and Arkeo’s fully dysfunctional office for her last blog as a regular. Conquer the world, and hire us soon! –Arkeo Team

It’s almost an entire year since the move to 8466.
It’s funny that November is still a vivid memory I always go back to whenever I blog about Arkeo.
I remember walking in to this construction site, asking a man with a hammer if I was at the right place and if (although odd) he knew where I had to go for my interview. Naturally he didn’t, but he said there were people upstairs and I could go straight ahead.
Oh my yellow skirt.
The uncertainty and nerves!
I led my way up the hardly finished staircase and bumped into random boxes all over the second floor where I then met Tracy and saw Popo and JH briefly. The boys didn’t even look at me. Or they did, I just didn’t see.
Regardless, that feels so long ago…
I am happy to report that we’ve finally completed the renovation; turning an abandoned home into a spunky cool and colorful office. Our first floor is centralized, divided into walls and doors, lit beautifully w/ a conference room that actually looks like a conference room, and a huge gold and brown plate that says 8466 on the outside. Hooray! Clients will find us.
So many things have changed in Arkeo since then; new people, new home, new number, new clients, new habits, new things.
And for me, a new dog! This is especially significant to mention because Rocket, my toy poodle, has become part of the Arkeo family too. People either complain they can’t work when he’s around (because they can’t keep their hands off of him) or look for him when he is away. I am lucky that my officemates are dog-lovers (unfortunately for Tracy, Monster and Mario, I cannot say the same for cats. Tee hee.)
Another 2009 “only in Arkeo” trend that seems to be going around these days is the sight of children running around the office. Children, you might wonder. Sure, yes, definitely! Aside from working w/ a lot of kids for various projects, our very own artists, accountants, etc bring in their children too. It shouldn’t be a surprise because Arkeo’s a place of young hearts where children are most welcome to stay and play anyways.
I am feeling nostalgic.
Vomit.
Having said the positive…
I cannot express how sad I am not to be coming to the office everyday anymore. I will no longer see my million colorful post its stuck on my wall w/ my wide and clean desk, surrounded by stacks of paper, liquidations and messy things owned by people I will not name (for their benefit, not mine.) Yuck. (kidding)
Yesterday was my last day as a regular employee and today… is a different story.
Ok I lie. It wasn’t so different. I woke up, went straight to a shoot and have been calling suppliers and clients the whole day.
Ah well, nothing has changed. I wonder what the fuss is all about. At the rate I am going, I’ll always be Arkeo
See you at the internal tomorrow, guys.
Jill
P.S. In a place like 8466, who needs to be a regular anyway?
