Göteborg supports ‘Kano’

Göteborg gives “Kano”, Arkeo’s first feature documentary the final push to completion. Here’s an update from the GIFFF site:
The post production support for the spring of 2009 of the Göteborg International Film Festival Fund goes to nine films from over four continents. One of the films, Min Ye by Souleymane Cissé will be screened during the Cannes festival.
Since ten years the Göteborg International Film Festival works in cooperation with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, SIDA, with a fund that supports film makers living and working in development countries. Göteborg International Film Festival Fund has, since 1998, contributed with support to more than 70 film productions in more than 25 countries all over the world. The board of the fund has now selected nine out of 70 projects for post production support. Four of the nine films are documentaries.
The nine films are:

Last Flight of the Flamingo, by Patrice Lumumba, Mozambique
Gardens of Eden, by Hector Galvez Campos, Peru
La Yuma, by Florence Jaugey, Nicaragua
Son of Babylon, by Mohamed Al Daradji, Iraq
The Last Tightrope Dancer of Armenia, by Vardan Hovhannysian, Armenia
The Mirror, by Nilanjan Bhattacharya, India
Quarter Number 4/11, by Ranu Ghosh, India
Kano, by Monster Jimenez, The Philippines
